The same standards we apply at home

San Antonio orders follow the same turnaround standards as our Harris County jobs. Standard service is typically completed within 3–5 business days, and rush service is available (call 713-779-1400 to confirm timing for a specific address). Each attempt is logged with time-stamped photos and geo-location, you receive real-time status updates, and your affidavit is delivered within 48 hours of the serve. Evening and weekend attempts are available for defendants who can't be reached during business hours.

Military families and the non-military affidavit

San Antonio is home to Joint Base San Antonio, and many defendants in the region are active-duty servicemembers or live with one. That affects your case in two ways:

  1. Access. Serving someone who lives or works on a military installation requires coordination, and on-base access can't be assumed. Tell us when an address may be on or near a base so we can plan the attempt, or identify an off-base address through our locate services.
  2. Default judgments. The federal Servicemembers Civil Relief Act requires the plaintiff to file an affidavit stating whether the defendant is in military service before the court can enter a default judgment. We prepare non-military affidavits for $45.00, alongside subpoenas ($45.00), president's affidavits ($45.00) and Rule 106 motions and orders ($65.00). See document preparation.

Texas rules, applied consistently

A Bexar County judge reviewing a default motion looks at the return first. Ours are written to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure:

  • Who serves (TRCP 103). Papers are delivered by a server certified under Supreme Court of Texas order. Parties to the suit and anyone with a stake in it are never used.
  • How service is made (TRCP 106). We begin with in-person delivery, or certified mail when you prefer. If repeated attempts fail, our records of each attempt support a 106(b) motion, and the judge may then permit delivery to anyone over 16 at the defendant's home or workplace, or electronic notice through our eService option.
  • What the return shows (TRCP 107). Cause number, court, the person served, and when, where and how they were served, all verified or signed under penalty of perjury. The ten-day waiting period before a default judgment starts only once the return is on file, so we deliver it within 48 hours.

Skip tracing before we call you

After two failed attempts, we run a complimentary skip trace using public records and USPS data to find alternate addresses. In most cases we resolve the address problem ourselves before contacting you. For evasive defendants, stakeouts are available. If the subject truly can't be found, we prepare, sign and notarize an affidavit of due diligence at no additional cost.

Filing and paralegal support statewide

We e-file original cases ($55.00) and returns of service ($6.00), so a Bexar County case can be filed, served and returned through one vendor. Overflow paralegal services are available at $85.00 per hour for drafting, filing, court research and records retrieval.

Court-ready affidavits guaranteed. Call 713-779-1400 (we're available 24/7) or submit your order online now. Include the defendant's name and last known address, the cause number, the court and county, and any special instructions such as gate codes or military affiliation.
