TURNAROUND & SCHEDULING

  • How long does the process service take in Harris County?

Standard service is typically completed within 3–5 business days. Rush service guarantees a first attempt within 24 hours. Same-day service is available for urgent filings — call 713-779-1400 to confirm availability before placing the order.

  • Do you offer same-day and weekend service?

Yes. We offer same-day service for urgent filings and evening/weekend attempts for defendants who are difficult to reach during business hours. Rush and same-day orders require a phone call to confirm availability — call 713-779-1400.

  • How will I know when service is complete?

We provide real-time status updates on every job. Our servers use time-stamped photos and geo-location on each attempt. You will receive a notification when service is completed, and your affidavit will follow within 48 hours of the serve.

AFFIDAVITS & COURT DOCMENTS

  • Are your affidavits accepted by Harris County court?

Yes. All affidavits are prepared per Texas Rules of Civil Procedure with the correct court caption format for both district and justice courts in Harris County. We verify the court type on every job before preparing the affidavit — Harris County district cases read "IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY," JP cases read "IN THE JUSTICE COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY." We maintain a 97% affidavit acceptance rate.

  • How long does it take to receive the affidavit after service?

Affidavits are prepared and delivered within 48 hours of completed service. Rush affidavit preparation is available for time-sensitive filings — contact us when placing your order to request expedited affidavit delivery.

BAD ADDRESSES & SKIP TRACING

  • What happen if the defendant can't be found at the address provided?

After two failed attempts, we conduct a complimentary skip trace using public records, USPS data, and Harris County Appraisal District records to identify 2–3 alternate addresses — before we ever contact you for a new address. This resolves the majority of bad address files without client involvement.

  • What if the defendant is actively avoiding service?

We offer stakeout service for evasive defendants — our servers will wait at a confirmed location for the defendant to appear. Stakeout is billed at an hourly rate in addition to the base serve fee. For persistent evasion, we can also assist with substitute service or posting options per Texas law.

COVERAGE & SERVICE AREA

  • Do you serve outside Harris County?

Yes. We handle out-of-county and out-of-state service across all 254 Texas counties and all 50 states through our established server network. Out-of-county and out-of-state orders are managed by our dedicated OOC team with the same turnaround standards as Harris County jobs.

  • Can you serve at a business address in Texas?

Yes. We serve individuals at business addresses, registered agent addresses, and via authorized agent service per the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code . When providing a business address, include the company name, suite number, and any known hours of operation to maximize first-attempt success.

PLACING AN ORDER

  • What information do I need to place an order?

To place an order you will need: defendant name and last known address , case caption and cause number, court name and county, the documents to be served, and any special instructions such as gated community access, business hours, or known evasion. Email everything to status@lonestarattysvc.com or use the Order Service form on our website.

  • How do I check the status of an existing job?

Email status@lonestarattysvc.com with your defendant name, job number, or case number and we will reply within 4 business hours with a full status update — including the date and result of the last attempt and confirmed next steps. For urgent updates call 713-779-1400 directly.
