Texas Process Service FAQs

Yes. All affidavits are prepared per the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure with the correct court caption format for both district and justice courts in Harris County. We verify the court type on every job before preparing the affidavit — Harris County district cases read "IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY," JP cases read "IN THE JUSTICE COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY." We maintain a 97% affidavit acceptance rate.

Affidavits are prepared and delivered within 48 hours of completed service. Rush affidavit preparation is available for time-sensitive filings — contact us when placing your order to request expedited affidavit delivery.  

After two failed attempts, we conduct a complimentary skip trace using public records, USPS data, and Harris County Appraisal District records to identify 2–3 alternate addresses — before we ever contact you for a new address. This resolves the majority of bad address files without client involvement.  

We offer stakeout service for evasive defendants — our servers will wait at a confirmed location for the defendant to appear. Stakeout is billed at an hourly rate in addition to the base serve fee. For persistent evasion, we can also assist with substitute service or posting options per Texas law.  

Yes. From our home base in Houston, we handle service across all 254 Texas counties and all 50 states through our established server network. Out-of-county and out-of-state orders are managed by our dedicated OOC team with the same turnaround standards as Harris County jobs. Service in other Texas counties starts at $115.00 and nationwide service starts at $135.00.

Yes. We serve individuals at business addresses, registered agent addresses, and via authorized agent service per the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code. When providing a business address, include the company name, suite number, and any known hours of operation to maximize first-attempt success.  

To place an order you will need: defendant name and last known address, case caption and cause number, court name and county, the documents to be served, and any special instructions such as gated community access, business hours, or known evasion. Yes. We do both e-filing and in-person filing. We can file the original case, serve it, and file the return of service back with the court. As an add-on to our process serving services, e-filing of an original case is $55.00 and e-filing a return of service is $6.00.

Yes. We handle records recovery and collection of court filings, served subpoenas, and other documents your caseload needs. Document retrieval at the Harris County Courthouse is $65.00, with a $60.00 rush fee for retrieval in 24 hours or less and a $20.00 copy fee. Documents can be delivered by mail, express mail, or email.

Yes. We prepare subpoenas ($45.00), Rule 106 motions and orders ($65.00), president's affidavits ($45.00), non-military affidavits ($45.00), and more. For overflow work, our paralegal services ($85.00 per hour) cover drafting, filing, court research, and records retrieval without adding headcount, with local, statewide, and nationwide coverage.
