Dallas–Fort Worth Process Server for Texas Law Firms
The Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex covers more than a dozen counties, each with its own district clerk, county courts at law and justice courts. Lone Star Attorney Service serves process across the Metroplex through our established Texas server network. The work is managed by our dedicated out-of-county (OOC) team at our Houston headquarters, where we have been serving legal papers since 1995. Firms anywhere in Texas, including DFW firms with defendants elsewhere in the state, can send North Texas papers to the same team that handles their statewide work.
Counties we cover in North Texas
- Dallas County: Dallas, Irving, Garland, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Richardson
- Tarrant County: Fort Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, Mansfield
- Collin County: McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen
- Denton County: Denton, Lewisville, Flower Mound
- Surrounding counties: Rockwall, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman and Parker
Service in Texas counties outside Harris County starts at $115.00. See our Pricing page for current rates.
Same standards as our home market
DFW orders follow the same turnaround standards as our Harris County jobs. Standard service is typically completed within 3–5 business days, and rush service is available. Call 713-779-1400 to confirm rush timing for a specific address. Every attempt is documented with time-stamped photos and geo-location, you get real-time status updates, and your affidavit is delivered within 48 hours of the serve.
Corporate defendants and registered agents
The Metroplex is home to many corporate headquarters, regional offices and registered agents, so business service is a large share of DFW work. We serve individuals at business addresses and registered agent addresses, and through authorized agents under the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code. To improve the odds of first-attempt success, include the company name, suite number and any known business hours with your order. Office towers in Uptown, Las Colinas and the Legacy area of Plano often have lobby security, and that information helps the server plan the attempt.
Texas procedure, done right in every county
Each county formats its captions differently, but the rules don't change:
- TRCP 103: we use process servers certified under order of the Supreme Court of Texas, never a party or anyone with an interest in the case.
- TRCP 106: personal delivery or certified mail comes first. When a defendant can't be reached, a Rule 106(b) motion supported by a sworn statement of attempts lets the court authorize substituted service. That can mean leaving the papers with someone over 16 at the defendant's home or business, or another reasonably effective method, including electronic service. We prepare 106 motions and orders and offer eService when a court authorizes it.
- TRCP 107: the return identifies the cause number, court, person served, date, time, address and manner of service, and is verified or signed under penalty of perjury. A default judgment requires the return to have been on file for ten days.
- TRCP 176: trial and deposition subpoenas can be served anywhere in Texas by a non-party who is at least 18. We prepare subpoenas for $45.00 and serve them.
When the defendant moves or avoids service
After two failed attempts, we run a complimentary skip trace using public records and USPS data to find alternate addresses before we contact you. If a defendant is actively avoiding service, our locate services and stakeouts are available. If the subject can't be found, we prepare, sign and notarize an affidavit of due diligence at no additional cost.
E-filing without a trip downtown
We e-file original cases ($55.00) and returns of service ($6.00) through the Texas e-filing system. We can file your Dallas or Tarrant County case, serve it, and file the return back with the court, with one vendor handling the whole job.
Court-ready affidavits guaranteed. Call 713-779-1400 (we're available 24/7) or submit your order online now. Include the defendant's name and address, the cause number, the court and county, and any special instructions.
